I'm blown away by the quality of this for such a short game design module! Character movement felt good to me with a manageable amount of sliding, controls were intuitive, and I'm especially impressed by both the level design and the aesthetics/audio. No real points of criticism, cool game and well done :)
The character movement is a little awkward for me.
I think I would prefer if it was less floaty (so stops immediately after keypress, like Mario) or even MORE floaty, so that when you jump there's a bit of a hover or a slower descent, so it feels like you're piloting this hover mech. Also, I don't think many games use a slower-descent mechanic (like the Princess in Super Mario Bros 2) so that could give some awesome gameplay options!
Did you find the controls easy to pickup?
The grabbing was a little like "am I grabbing or not?", so some kind of UI feedback would be awesome. The mouse to shoot took a second, and also the gun disappeared on the next screen so I assumed I no longer had it, but I did! Bwhahaha.
If you reached the gravity switching levels, were you comfortable with the controls?
Loved the gravity switching! Worked it out.
If you could make any improvements, e.g. visual clarity, controls, mechanics, what would they be?
I'd love to see the character movement made a bit more hover-robot like, to see how it feels.
